Product Liability

Products are considered defective if they contain a manufacturing flaw, a design defect, or an inadequate warning, and manufacturers can be held liable for injuries that are caused as a result of a defective product. Injuries from defective products can occur at home or in the workplace, such as in the case of contaminated food or a leaking gas valve, or while outdoors (for example, a motorcycle helmet that does not properly protect your head). If you are injured by a defective product, it is important to save the product for inspection by legal and other experts. Consumers have rights that protect them from defective products, and manufacturers have a legal obligation to provide consumers with safe products.
